Situated on the northern edge of the Chiltern escarpment, Wendover Woods is 325 hectares of mixed coniferous and broadleaved woodland where you will find plenty to see and do. Either spend an energetic day orienteering and cycling, hike along the nearby Ridgeway Trail, test your nerve at Go Ape and follow this with a drink and substantial slice of handmade cake at The Cafe in the Woods. Escaping the rat race, Jon and Amy have set up and run this fantastic cafe in the heart of Wendover Woods at the highest point in the Chilterns. There is a substantial menu of hot and cold food and drinks including hand made cakes, toasted sandwiches and paninis, bacon and real sausage rolls, real coffee and a great selection of ice creams. The cafe caters for all-comers: walkers, hikers, ramblers, cyclists, families and dogs - all are welcome. The Café in the Woods offers a fabulous BBQ that runs every Sunday, regardless of the British weather. Pop along to sample the homemade delights of locally sourced meat. The BBQ and BBQ Chef can be hired out to cater for groups and parties large and small.
