The Fox and Hounds dates back to 1643 and is now under the guidance of husband and wife team Eddie and Sharon. The Fox and Hounds is full of charm and character; you enter into a beamy bar, full of simple benches, cosy corners and logs glowing in a vast inglenook fireplace. Brakspears traditional ales are served as well as a great selection of wines and spirits.

Eating at The Fox and Hounds - The new menu is varied and full of imaginative main meals and delicious desserts all at agreeable prices. There are 'nibbles' such as pea, lettuce and mint soup with crusty bread at £4.95 or a platter of cured meats and pickles at £5.45. Main courses include Wild Boar Sausages cooked in a red wine and mushroom sauce served with creamy mashed potatoes and seasonal veg at £11.95 or Rib Eye Steak served with chunky chips, roasted vine tomatoes, field mushroom and watercress with peppercorn sauce or garlic butter for £16.95. Desserts such as lemon or white chocolate cheesecake, pecan pie or fudge brownies, all at £5.95. There is also a proper Childrens Menu with favourites such as ham, egg and chips at £4.95 or a real home made burger topped with melted chesse served with skinny chips at £5.95.

Finding The Fox and Hounds. The Fox and Hounds is easily accessible from (J5 M40) follow the A40 towards Oxford, after 1 mile take the left-hand turning, sign-posted Christmas Common and it is in the heart of the hamlet aftert about 3 miles. Make time for walks along the myriad of footpaths that surround the pub through the beech woods of the Chilterns, or visit Aston Rowant Nature reserve and look up to spot soaring red kites.
