For more than 600 years, this grade 2 listed Coaching Inn has been providing superb hospitality and refreshment to weary travellers and villagers alike. Located in the pretty village of Chalfont St Peter, just 5 miles from the M25 and the M40, The Greyhound is an ideal place to break your journey and enjoy our hospitality.

Notable past guests include Oliver Cromwell, Winston Churchill and the notorious Judge Jefferies who held his assizes here and dispatched his unfortunate victims on the gallows by the river. The only hanging you will witness today is around the historic bar.

The Bar. Recently refurbished, The Greyhound has been transformed whilst maintaining the enduring character of this beautiful and historic coaching inn. The atmospheric bar with its flagstone floor and original timbered ceiling is a major attraction of the hotel, making it the social hub of the village, ideal for meeting friends, pre-dinner drinks or watching sporting events.

Accommodation.  All 12 guest rooms are equipped with wi-fi internet access and Satellite TV and all benefit from modern en-suite bathrooms.

The Restaurant. Our newly refurbished restaurant specialises in fresh English and Continental dishes and offers an innovative new menu, designed by Head Chef Nana Akuffo who trained under the tutelage of the celebrated Anton Edelmann at the Savoy Hotel in London.  The restaurant is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

Private Functions. Our restaurant or bar area can be booked for your exclusive use to a maximum of sixty guests. We can provide a full menu or canapés. For wedding parties and receptions, christenings, parties or sporting events or funeral gatherings, let us look after you at The Greyhound Inn.
