The Royal Oak at Bovingdon Green, is a wonderful country pub and free house situated on the edge of the picturesque village green at Bovingdon Green just a mile or so outside the village of Bovingdon between Chesham in Bucks and Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire.

The pub has been extensively refurbished by the new owners, Rob and Sel Dawson and their team and now offers a country pub experience with a modern feeling and ambience.  Simply put, the Royal Oak is a forward thinking 'Country Pub' which is both family and dog friendly. A hearty welcome is also offered to walkers, ramblers and hikers, muddy boots and four legged friends included.  The Chiltern Way passes just a hundred yards from our front door, so make a small detour and enjoy a drink and maybe a meal at The Royal Oak. 

The pub focuses heavily on sourcing produce from local suppliers including its milk, any 'game' from a local shoot and its logs for the two open fires!  There is an excellent wine list, featuring something for every occasion and two real ales (from local breweries such at Tring Brewery and Chiltern Brewery) are always available, expertly prepared for service by the CAMRA accredited team.

Eating at The Royal Oak.  We are focused on sourcing as much food as possible from local suppliers and aim to have everything supplied to us, from businesses within 10 miles of the pub.  We prepare our food simply, and let the food do the talking.  We have an 'Over 60's' menu priced at £6 available monday to Friday, a childrens menu at £3.50 and Lunch menu priced at £10 for two courses. We also are able to cater for larger groups, for events such as wedding parties or funerals, providing bespoke set menus at a fixed price per head.
